The easiest dessert for fall! Crispy apples in puff pastry with Peanoot Butter

Nov 12, 2025Good Noot

There's a scent that perfectly defines autumn. It's the aroma of baked apples and cinnamon, wafting from the oven and filling the kitchen. There's nothing better on a chilly November afternoon.

But what if we told you you could have this flavor in less than 20 minutes? No kneading, no complicated preparations. We have a recipe for a quick and impressive dessert: Apples in Crispy Puff Pastry . But that's not all! We also have a secret addition that takes this simple snack to the next level.

Why is Peanoot Butter the perfect dip?

You take the golden, hot, caramelized discs out of the oven. The puff pastry is perfectly crisp, and the apple inside is soft and juicy. Normally, you'd dust them with powdered sugar, right? We offer something much better.

Take this hot piece and dip it in velvety, artisanal Peanoot Butter 100% .

These are 100% pure, carefully roasted peanuts, ground until smooth. Their deep, natural, slightly salty flavor is the perfect balance for the sweetness of apples and cinnamon. This combination is delightful!

Recipe for Apples in Puff Pastry

This recipe is so simple you can make it during your coffee break.

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium, firm apples (e.g., ligol, rennet)

  • 1 package of light puff pastry (approx. 160g)

  • 1 beaten egg

  • 2 tablespoons xylitol (or cane sugar)

  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

  • A few generous spoonfuls of 100% Peanoot Butter, to serve

How to make it:

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 200°C (convection) . Line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. Prepare the apples: Wash the apples thoroughly and, without peeling them, cut them into 4 thick slices (cut each apple in half, then cut the halves in half again).

  3. Core: Using a small cookie cutter, a pastry tip, or a knife, scoop out the hard center and seed from each slice, creating perfect "tireless" shapes.

  4. Prepare the dough: Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into strips about 1 cm wide with a pizza cutter or regular knife.

  5. Wrap the apples: Take a slice of apple and wrap it in a strip of puff pastry, pushing the pastry through the opening all the way around, until the entire apple is covered. Press the tip of the pastry firmly into place.

  6. Finishing: Place the prepared apples on a baking sheet. Brush the tops thoroughly with beaten egg – this will give them a beautiful golden color.

  7. Sprinkle: In a small bowl, combine the xylitol and cinnamon. Generously sprinkle the mixture over the top of the cake.

  8. Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes , until the pastry has risen beautifully and is golden brown.

  9. Serve: Serve the baked apples immediately, while they are still hot and crisp, with a generous dollop of 100% Peanoot Butter for dipping.

Enjoy your meal!
