PISTACHIO pistachio cream – a pistachio spread that's almost half pistachios
Love pistachio in every form? You're in the right place! Pistachio is our cult pistachio cream with 45% roasted pistachios – velvety, deeply pistachio-flavoured and lightly salted with a pinch of Himalayan salt. We roast, grind, jar and label the pistachios ourselves – by hand, in our workshop in Kraków. Good Noot is the nutty sister of Good Lood, the Kraków ice cream shop, so pistachios are something we know inside out.

Pistachio cream – what exactly is it?
Pistachio cream is a ready-to-eat sweet spread for bread and desserts. Its base is ground pistachios, with sugar, fat and a pinch of salt added to make it smooth, creamy and ready to enjoy. In Pistachio, pistachios make up almost half of the jar.
Pistachio paste is something else: just ground pistachios, nothing added. If you came here looking for a "100% pistachio cream", what you're after is a paste – ours is TYLKO PISTACJA. And a pistachio cake filling? That's something you make yourself – for example from Pistachio, mascarpone and whipping cream (recipe below).
How to choose a good pistachio cream? What to look for in the ingredients
Not all pistachio creams are the same. Before you add a jar to your cart, check the label:
- How many pistachios? The pistachio content should be given as a percentage. The higher it is on the list and the bigger the percentage, the more pistachio flavour.
- Which fat? Check whether the ingredients include palm oil.
- Colour and aroma. A cream made from roasted pistachios has a naturally olive, muted shade. If the colour is very bright, check the ingredients for colourings or flavourings.
- Sugar. If sugar is the first ingredient, there is more of it in the jar than pistachios. Cutting down on sugar? Choose the version with no added sugar.
- Milk powder. Important for vegans – many creams contain it.
- Salt. A pinch brings out the pistachio flavour, but it's worth knowing it's there.

Pistachio cream with mascarpone for cakes – recipe
Light, fluffy and seriously pistachio – perfect for layer cakes, sponge cakes and tartlets.
Ingredients: 250 g mascarpone, 200 ml whipping cream (30% fat), approx. 120 g Pistachio cream (approx. 8 tablespoons). The mascarpone and cream must be well chilled.
- Whip the cream until stiff.
- In another bowl, briefly mix the mascarpone with the Pistachio cream until smooth.
- Add the whipped cream in batches and fold in gently with a spatula.
- Taste it – Pistachio is sweet, so you usually don't need to add sugar. Chill for about 30 minutes before filling the cake.
Without mascarpone: whip 300 ml of chilled 30% cream (you can add a cream stabiliser) and fold in approx. 100 g Pistachio at the end.
Quick idea: cut puff pastry into triangles, put a teaspoon of Pistachio on the wide end, roll into crescents and bake following the pastry package instructions. Pistachio croissants are ready!
