Iconic no-bake cookie "potatoes" – a quick childhood dessert

Jun 14, 2026Good Noot

A return to childhood flavors is always the best journey! Do you remember the traditional, homemade bajaderki or "potato cakes" that your mom used to make from whatever she had on hand? Today, we have for you an iconic recipe for these legendary no-bake sweets, but in a totally refreshed, premium version. You don't have to wait for a kitchen mishap and a failed cake – you can make these "potato cakes" from scratch in a matter of minutes!

Iconic No-Bake Biscuit "Potato Cakes" – An Express Childhood Dessert

Traditional bajaderki are often made from leftover cakes or failed batches, but this recipe proves that with a few simple ingredients, you can create a brilliant, standalone dessert. Instead of blending everything into a smooth mass, just crush the biscuits – this way you'll get a wonderful crunch in every bite. This is the perfect idea for something sweet and no-bake when you don't feel like complicated baking and guests are already knocking on the door.

This recipe, full of nostalgia and flavor, was prepared for us by our wonderful Nut Lover Marta (IG: @na.kasztanowej)! Come on, let's recreate this taste together!

Chocolate-Nut Duo: CHOCONOOT® and CHOCO & PEANOOT CRUNCHY

What gives our "potato cakes" their unique, deep texture and luxurious taste is the combination of two iconic creams from Good Noot. The mixture includes a generous spoonful of CHOCONOOT® with no added sugar (a smooth cream of hazelnuts and cocoa) and CHOCO & PEANOOT CRUNCHY (a cream of peanuts and cocoa with crunchy nut pieces). These delicious chocolate creams perfectly bind the mixture, eliminating the need to add a ton of white sugar!

Ingredients for homemade "potato cakes":

  • 1 packet of biscuits (classic or butter biscuits)

  • 1 generous spoonful of CHOCONOOT® cream from Good Noot

  • 1 generous spoonful of CHOCO & PEANOOT CRUNCHY cream from Good Noot

  • 30-40 g melted, slightly cooled butter

  • A handful of chopped almonds

  • Coconut flakes (for coating)

Step-by-step preparation:

  1. Crunchy base: crush the biscuits thoroughly in your hands or place them in a bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Remember not to blend them into dust – the charm of these "potato cakes" lies in the noticeable, crunchy biscuit pieces!

  2. Mixing the nuts: add the chopped almonds to the crushed biscuits and pour in the melted, liquid butter.

  3. Adding premium creams: time for the most important part – add a generous spoonful of CHOCONOOT® and CHOCO & PEANOOT CRUNCHY cream to the bowl. Mix everything thoroughly with a spoon, then knead with your hands until a pliable, cohesive mass resembling clay is formed.

  4. Shaping and decoration: Take small portions from the ready mixture and form neat balls or elongated "potato shapes" in your hands. Coat each one thoroughly in coconut flakes.

  5. Chilling: Place the finished sweets on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes so that the butter and chocolate creams can set perfectly.

The biscuit "potato cakes" taste best when thoroughly chilled, served with a cup of hot coffee or a glass of milk. Store them in the refrigerator (if anything is left!). Enjoy!
